Pray

  1. Praise
    1. The gospel first came to Mongolia in the early 1980's, and since then it has continued to spread across the country. Praise God for the church's expansion into and across Mongolia.
    2. Praise God for the continuing spiritual growth He's granting to the believers in Mongolia.
  2. Petition
    1. The Church
      1. Pray for spiritual maturity among the believers.
      2. Many false teachings are springing up, and the "health-wealth gospel" continues to be a problem. Pray for spiritual discernment among believers, and for wisdom in knowing how to respond to these destructive teachings.
      3. Pray that the believers in Mongolia will continue to grow in their understanding of God's word.
      4. Pray that God will raise up more Bible-saturated, Christ-exalting pastors and teachers from among the Mongolian people. Pray also for strength and wisdom for the pastors and teachers already working in the church.
    2. The Bible
Several years ago, before the Bible had been translated into Mongolian, several missionaries took the English NIV Bible and translated it word-for-word into Mongolian, without properly using Mongolian grammar. Unfortunately, they used several important words incorrectly (for example, the word "Jesus" was translated to mean "Buddha"), making this translation very easy to misunderstand. Despite the release of a better translation, this incorrect translation has become widely used, and has caused much confusion in the church.
      1. Pray that God's word will be read and understood correctly.
      2. Pray that the controversy over this issue will be resolved peacefully, and that the believers will demonstrate Christ's love during this difficult situation.
    3. The Unreached
      1. Urban areas are expanding rapidly, as many rural people are coming into the cities in search of jobs. Pray that the Mongolian Christians will be able to effectively respond to this opportunity. Pray that God will bring many of these people into His kingdom.
      2. Many Mongolians live as nomads in remote areas. Pray that God will bring many of these people to Himself, and that God will call more people into long-term ministry with these people.
      3. Pray that the gospel will spread among the ethnic minorities in Mongolia, such as the Kazakh, the Tuvinian, the Chinese, and the Russians.
    4. Specific Ministry Opportunities
      1. Pray for the development of an effective Mongolian Christian radio ministry.
      2. Pray that more quality follow-up and discipleship literature will be developed and distributed.
    5. The Government and Culture
      1. Praise God for the democratic and religious freedoms granted under the democratic government. Pray that it will continue to be upheld.
      2. Pray that the Mongolian government will have wisdom in handling the country's difficult economic situation
      3. Corruption is a big problem in the Mongolian government. Much of the aid money the country receives is used for the personal interests of government leaders, rather than on the needs of the Mongolian people. Pray for governmental reform.
